I found the solution for him via Googling for many days and reading countless forum posts. Since he used the Hide Driver program he's had no problems.

Just to be safe he saved the Hide Driver program, the old driver, an image of his Win10 installation and set a go back point. So, Win Update never changes the driver to the newer driver that doesn't work. He then used a program that I think is made by MS that hides the driver from Win Update. I think his adapter is Intel.ĭowngrade the video driver to an old driver. Mine have N-V-I-D-I-A NVS 3100M display adapters. I have two i5 and one i7 E6410's without this problem. He discovered that he could use an external monitor with the new driver. Win Update would immediately install a newer video driver that would turn the screen black. Win10 worked OK until he connected to his Wi-Fi network. A friend of mine had this problem with an i3 E6410.
